Is happiness a feeling or is it in our nature? Thinkers and philosophers have been discussing the definition for thousands of years. Safety, contentment and success are all aligned with happiness, but what makes one person happy may not work for someone else. Nevertheless, gladness does play a pretty important role in our lives, and it can have a huge impact on the way we live.
I am just thinking of the last time I felt wildly delighted; that night I went to bed feeling energetic, joyful and grateful for all I had. I am talking about the first day I could operate on a patient without needing help. It is undeniable that the last six years preparing myself to become a medical surgeon had been quite challenging, stress and anxiety gripped me. However, having reached my life goal makes me feel full of joy, gratitude, love, amazement and hope every single day I go to hospital.
As it concerns my personal experience, when I wonder what makes me feel happy, I often think of being able to heal patients and help people make a recovery. Needless to say that coping with delighted and pleased people boosts my mood. That said, I contend that happiness lies in small and easy things and actions. In order to lift our spirits and keep them high, we should always be consciously aware of what we are thankful for and think about all the goodness that exists in our world, being faithful and kind.
Notwithstanding, it is important to remember that cheerfulness is unique to each person. This means that there is no universal formula for achieving happiness; although giving steps like the ones mentioned above will surely help fulfill the pursuit of bliss. Regarding this hunt, I reckon that people should not be so focused on achieving complete happiness, instead, they must pay more attention to daily motions and thoughts.
Taking all the above mentioned into account, I could conclude that felicity is a skill that can be learned. Even though the recipe is different depending on each folk, we all share some innate traits that make us feel happy in similar situations. In most cases, just by doing things that give us positive feelings and being conscious of them, we will feel notably merry.
